It depends on your needs. One-off guidance sessions are a single, extended session (though you’re of course welcome to book another down the track). The Circle of Security parenting program is either 4 sessions or 8 sessions, depending on whether you choose the private or group format.
For one-to-one parent support, the number of sessions will depend on your circumstances, complexity of your concerns, your goals, and the skills that will help you progress towards your goals. I offer a free 15 minute consultation and can give you an indication based on that discussion.
Confidentiality of psychology sessions is essential from an ethical standpoint and an important component of establishing a trusting partnership. I use Zoom professional as it complies with Australian regulations. Each client is given a unique link to access their session, in order to maximise security. I conduct sessions from a private room and wear headphones for each session, to ensure that information is only heard by me.
To maintain confidentiality of client information and files, I use Practice Management Software (Halaxy) specifically designed to meet the needs and patient privacy requirements of Health Professionals. Please provide notice as soon as possible if you are unable to make your appointment. Of course life doesn’t always go to plan, however sessions cancelled with short-notice will incur a fee, as appointments times are limited and the tailored and individualised nature of some of the services makes it challenging to fill cancelled session slots.

When booking, you record your preferred payment method. For most services, my practice management software (Halaxy) will automatically deduct the fee from your nominated account 15 minutes into the session. This convenient method allows us to maximise the session for consultation and support, rather than finish earlier for admin. You’ll also automatically be emailed a paid invoice for your records.
At this time Gumnut Psychology is a private pay practice. Your private health insurance may cover some psychology services – please check with them directly.
Not at all! You simply need decent internet access (if you can stream services like Netflix, your internet is sufficient) and a device compatible with video calls. Some clients may prefer to use headphones for added privacy.
Each client is provided with a unique link that takes them directly to the online session.
